Happy Birthday...

... to me!

We had a yummy dinner tonight at Taki, a Japanese restaurant in town. Evan asked if we could celebrate my birthday again tomorrow.

Aunt Emmy's Visit

It was wonderful to have Aunt Emmy here for the weekend! Despite the rain, we still managed to do and EAT many things! We had pink pancakes, saw the art fair, drove the Cherry Blossom trail many times, and created our own "taste of Macon" by eating bbq pork sandwiches from three different places in town. (Em can't get such sandwiches in NY!) The weekend was packed full of fun and we miss her so much already!

Here is a parting shot from the airport ... taken by Evan!

Thanks to Nana & Gramps!

(downtown Macon - in line for free carriage rides - near the line for free cherry ice cream!)

Infinite thanks to Nana and Gramps for all their help the last eight days. (While Ani worked the MOPS Consignment sale, Nana and Gramps ran the house!) The boys had so much fun and they loved the undivided attention!

Over the weekend, we attended several Cherry Blossom activities like the annual Pink Pancake Breakfast, the parade, and free cherry ice cream in the park! We also rode in a horse-drawn carriage and ate like royalty! Thanks for everything, Nana & Gramps!

Here are some of our favorite pictures from the week.

A+ Prank

Yesterday, Evan and Alex played a terrific prank on me. After I picked them up from preschool, I got them both buckled into their respective car seats (Evan in a booster, Alex in the 5-point harness). Before we left the parking lot, I rolled down my window to chat with a friend. When we were done talking, I turned around to check on the boys. They had completely switched car seats -- and all seat belts were buckled! I laughed and laughed at those sneaky boys!

Fox News, Macon

Evan & Alex experienced 2 seconds of their respective 15 minutes of fame! Yesterday, as we waited for our car to be painted with Cherry Blossoms for the upcoming Macon Cherry Blossom Festival, E & A wandered around and danced to a bluegrass band -- while Fox News was filming. If you watch VERY carefully, at about 19 seconds, you will see the boys walking toward the camera (Don't blink; you'll miss it!). The white mini-van that is in the background of the segment is ours, too. In fact, when the reporter is speaking to the camera, it is beside our car. Evan and Alex had their faces pressed to the window during this filming, but the tinted windows (or Fox) hid them!

Another first: Alex Camping

It was snowing 5 days ago.

Today was in the 70s.

Tonight, all THREE boys are camping. In one tent.
This is Alex's first time camping and he
assured us that there would be
"no bats or spiders in my tent!"

YES! Snow

It is snowing in Macon, GA.
Between the flakes, we can see our yellow jonquils
and pink azaleas blooming!
