Lenore Visits

On Sunday morning, Will left for 6 days in Boise, ID. He'll be teaching high school History teachers about "The Idea of America." Back home, I've had a hard time enforcing "the idea of bed time!" The boys miss their Daddy. Even Alex points to Will's side of the bed and says, "Dadada."

Lenore, Ani's friend from college, flew down from Chicago on Monday. She has been generous enough to use a full week of work-leave to stay with us! Her visit has given us an excuse to do lots of fun things:

Monday, we went to the Atlanta zoo. Alex loved the elephants. His eyes were as wide as saucers as he watched them lumber around. Evan was disappointed to miss the lions (yes, there were tears), but he loved the gorillas and the bird walk with Lenore. My favorite animal was the baby Panda, who was born a few weeks after Alex. This was the first time I've seen the baby and the mommy in the same habitat.

Tuesday, we spent the morning at Kangaroo Bob's. We love this place -- especially on hot summer days when we can't play outside! For a nominal price, the kids can run, jump, and play until they are exhausted (or kicked in the head, as was the case today). The women who work there are crazy about the boys, so we always get extra special attention, too. Evan enjoyed showing Lenore around. Check out this short video:
