Yesterday was a big day. Will and I took Alex for tests at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta @ Scottish Rite. (Because blogs are public, I'll omit details. Email or call if you want more information.). The bottom line is that Alex is healthy. He does not have any of the potential problems we anticipated. We are so thankful. The doctors, nurses, and staff at Children's were absolutely superb; they restored my faith in health care after a traumatic experience in Macon two weeks ago.Where was Evan during our 9+ hour excursion yesterday? He stayed at the home of Grace Byron, his "best friend in the ho world." My friend Ellen (mom to Grace, 3, and Julia, 4-1/2 months) kept Evan, too. We would not have survived yesterday without Ellen's help.

Of course, Evan is now spoiled. He had a fabulous time chez Byron. Super-Ellen managed three kids, no naps for Evan or Grace, breakfast, lunch, several snacks, face painting, book reading, train playing, popcorn spilling.... all the while snapping pictures of the kids together! There is a great story about the kids posted on Ellen's blog - read it here. For pictures of the two BFFs together, click here.
We are so thankful for the support of our friends and family. And best of all: Alex is on the road to recovery!
