Evan had his wellness check-up on Tuesday. He is now 38-1/2" tall and 32 lbs. His height was off the charts for the first year of his life, but he has slipped to the 70th percentile. Will assures me that the Jordans are "late bloomers" when it comes to growth spurts. Evan's weight is in the 50th percentile, and thankfully, no one worried about his head circumference this visit!
This appointment was especially exciting because it was the first time that Evan used the "big-boy" scale and the big-boy blood pressure cuff. He wondered why the nurse (Ms. Anita) no longer blew bubbles for him when he was standing on the scale! As for the cuff, he was mystified. At one point he said, "It's too tight, Ms. Anita. This is ridiculous!" (Note: Evan pronounces ridiculous with five syllables: ree-dic-u-lee-os). Next time your doctor is conducting an uncomfortable test, just think to yourself, "this is reediculeeos!"
Other news: I'm supposed to lay off him regarding potty training. I'm SO ready for these diapers to be gone, though! It seems to me that a guy who can negotiate the type of cake he wants at his potty-trained party (he wants marble), can ditch the diapers, n'est pas?
