Thanks to Nana for making and sending two very cool Peter Pan hats! The boys are having such fun with them! Alex likes to carry a small plastic hanger with him, too, like Captain Hook!

Disney Pictures
At long last, pictures from the trip. There are a lot, but keep in mind that these 140 are the "cliff notes" version of over 800! Enjoy. Thanks to mom and dad for a wonderful vacation! AND, a special thank you to Dad for wearing my pink backpack all over Disney World! You guys are the best!

tinkering
I'm trying some new blog backgrounds. Not sold on this one yet. Maybe "less was more" with the plain-Jane one from before! :)
This "new" fall picture was taken almost exactly one year ago. Look how little these guys were!

Camping Again
Last night was another successful camping experience for Will and Evan in the backyard. It has been too hot to camp again since the first time back in May. (may pictures link)
This picture gave Evan a taste of his own medicine (except with a camera flash instead of a flashlight in the eyes)!
Thumbs up! Evan loves camping.

The State Fair
What a busy day! After soccer, Lowe's, and a drive-thru lunch, we met some friends at the Georgia State Fair at Central City Park. Alex was too short for most rides, but Evan had a blast! Above is a picture of Alex and his friend Clayton (who is in the other 2K class at school). Below, Evan and Clayton ride the speedy cars!
(As always, you can click on an individual picture to see a larger image)
Fire Trucks
Evan's 1st Goal!
We had two firsts this morning at soccer: 1) Evan scored his first goal, and (2) the Cougars WON!!!! (Of course, we are not supposed to keep score, but everyone does!)
Watch this video of Evan's shining moment. You might need to turn down the volume on your computer, as I am screaming through the whole 20 seconds! :)
Here it is again, this time on Laura's camera (Savannah's mom). Go Evan!

Center for the Teaching of America's Western Foundations
The opening event for the Center (of which Will is the co-director) was a speech last night by Ronna Burger, PhD in Philosophy from Tulane. Her talk was on Aristotle and titled, "What is the Best Human Life?" It was a huge success, with over 250 students and faculty (including Mercer's President) in attendance. The goal of the Center is to promote the study and teaching of the great books and ideas of Western civilization. This is a very promising start. Mercer's main website has a press release / link to the year's events.
If you are a millionaire/billionaire (or know one), and are interested in funding such a center, please let us know! Just imagine... The [your name here] Center For the Teaching of America's Western Foundations.
Thanks, Nana & Gramps!
A huge thank you to Nana and Gramps, who spent 10 days with us in Macon! Ani was able to work 12+ hour days at the consignment sale and the boys had a wonderful time being spoiled rotten! :) Here are some of our favorite pictures from the visit.
Dan, Susan, Will and the boys went to the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins. This plane (above) is the exact plane that Dan flew when he was in training in AZ! The very plane! Neato.
One evening, the boys went with Nana and Gramps to Bass Pro Shops just for fun! They loved seeing all the animals!
