Kazooin' on the dock of the bay

Call us crazy. We joined 2,000 other nuts at the Georgia State Fair in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for kazoo playing. (The kazoo originated in Macon in the 1850s, after all!) I'm guessing that we were about 1,000 people short of setting the record, but it was fun nonetheless. (The $5 fair entrance fee and the rain didn't help attendance, unfortunately!)

To make the event really Macon-centric, we kazooed Otis Redding's "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" (Otis was from Macon). Otis Redding III was in attendance to lead the crowd.

The other exciting event tonight was when Evan talked to Dave Price, CBS's The Early Show weatherman. The Early Show will broadcast live from Macon on 9-28-07 (Friday morning) at 6:30 am. If they use clips from tonight, there is a chance that Evan will make national news!

The evening ended with a few fireworks. Evan didn't like the noisy pops, but Alex (although exhausted), loved them. You can see in the pictures above that both boys were out past bedtime!

What a way to spend our 6th Engagement-Anniversary! A lot has changed since Will loaded me up with wine and proposed in Napa!
