Tonight was Evan's first official soccer practice and Will ran the show. All eight kids were present. It is a super group of girls, boys, and parents.
Once those eight kids wind down, they will sleep very well tonight. (Evan didn't get to bed until almost 9 due to his excitement.) It was hot but the kids worked hard. Will is an awesome coach. The ringer on the team is going to be Om, a little boy who is almost 2 years older than everyone else. He was misplaced on our team, so he is going to be awesome. You should see that guy kick. Plus, he is about 1 foot taller than everyone else, so that will help, as well.
Two of Evan's best buddies are on the team: Savannah and Connor. This is going to be a fun little season. We are looking forward to one more practice and then... game day on Sept. 13th!!!
Meanwhile....poor Alex. He can dribble and do throw-ins almost as well as the rest of the team, but he has two more years to wait before he is old enough for the league. At one point tonight, he was kicking the ball into the fence and yelling, "GOAL! Yay ME!"
