Rosa and Bernhard Visit

Rosa, a friend of Ani's from college, and her husband Bernhard drove 14 hours to Macon for a visit. They were here 2-1/2 fun-filled days. Although it was a quick trip, it was wonderful! After the kids went to bed, we even had time to visit uninterrupted. What a treat!

We packed as much southern-style food as possible into these poor, unsuspecting Chicagoans: fried chicken, pulled pork with sweet potatoes and deep-fried okra, Macon's famous Nu-Way hot dogs, BBQ burgers on our grill, peach cobbler topped with peach ice cream, and pecan pie.

Will toured us around Mercer's campus. There, Evan got to write on Daddy's chalk board, while Alex sported Daddy's regalia hat. We also spent time at Kangaroo Bob's. Rosa and Bernhard liked the slides as much as Evan! Alex is still indifferent to the whole sliding-thing, but he has begun to crawl around the "Joey's" infant area (see right).

It was a great couple of days. We miss our friends already!
