VBS Performance

Tonight was the big event! Evan's class opened the program with three songs. My favorite part of the whole evening was when, after the 2ND song (my video didn't catch it), Evan looked at the girl next to him and said, "Hey! They are clapping for US!" He sounded both incredulous and joyous! Until that moment, I had not cried... Man. I'm so proud of him I could just explode -- even if he did pick his nose once.

We've been listening to the "big kid" songs on CD all week. When it came time in the show for the 1st-6Th graders to sing "God's Big Backyard," Alex danced in his pew and sang along. I am sure he will be louder on several video cameras than the kids on stage (sorry, Trotter family, and others).

Evan is 2ND from the left in this 2-1/2 minute video.
By popular demand, the third of Evan's songs is now in video form below, as well. Enjoy.

Evan, I really liked when you sing in the church. I love Evan, and I would like to sing with him and my aunt Betsy, and mommy, and daddy, and Julia and Nemo. I wish I could play with Evan, and go to the aquarium with him and Alex. And I would like to have Evan over to my house too. And I would like to have some stuff that is very yummy to eat with him.

Love,
GRACE
